JSW Energy to Supply 1,200 MW Solar-Wind Power to Maharashtra

In a significant move to bolster its renewable energy portfolio, JSW Energy has signed agreements through its subsidiaries, JSW Renew Energy Six Ltd and JSW Renew Energy Thirty Ltd, to supply a total of 1,200 MW of solar-wind hybrid power to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL). The agreements involve two hybrid projects, each contributing 600 MW, and are set to be commissioned within 24 months. These developments are formalized through power purchase agreements (PPAs), featuring a 25-year agreement period with a tariff set at Rs 3.60/kWh.

This strategic initiative aligns with JSW Energy’s long-term goal to significantly expand its renewable energy footprint. The company currently boasts a project pipeline of 8.3 GW, with PPAs already signed for 4.4 GW. JSW Energy’s total generation capacity stands at 18.2 GW, encompassing 7.7 GW operational and 2.1 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro sectors, along with its renewable energy projects.
