Finland performs remote inspection of new nuclear plant

Russia’s Rosatom is building the plant using a 1200 MWe AES-2006 VVER under a fixed-price contract. RAOS Voima Oy is the Finnish subsidiary the Russian state nuclear corporation set up in 2014 for the purpose of buying a share in Fennovoima, the company that owns the Hanhikivi project.

Rosatom said the three-day inspection on 20-22 April was the first time in history that a remote inspection of a foreign supplier of nuclear power plants had been carried out. More than 30 RAOS Voima Oy personnel took part in the inspection.
