150 Engen stations now sport solar panels

A total of 150 Engen stations had their roofs equipped with solar panels, which have been deployed to reduce its reliance on grid power and lower CO2 emissions.

The equipment was provided by solar power provider SolarSaver and rolled out across the retailer’s locations in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. According to a report by Engineering News, the panels will have a combined capacity of 6.59 MW and produce close to 12.2-million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first year of operation.
