Vistra solar project enters service in Texas

Vistra said it completed a 65 MWdc/50 MWac solar project at the Brightside Solar Facility, which is now online in Southeast Texas.

Brightside Solar Facility uses 147,732 of First Solar’s 440-watt thin-film solar modules with single-axis trackers. The project also includes a 34.5 kV to 69 kV interconnecting substation in anticipation of a future utility upgrade of the existing 69 kV transmission line to a 138 kV line.

Burns & McDonnell provided engineering, procurement, and construction services for the solar farm and interconnecting substation.
