US DoE provides USD 3.5bn to boost battery manufacturing

The US Department of Energy (DoE) is making available up to USD 3.5 billion (EUR 3.2bn) from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to strengthen US production of advanced batteries and battery materials, which are key to the renewable energy and electric vehicle (EV) industries.

The funding seeks to create new, retrofitted and expanded facilities for battery-grade processed critical minerals, battery precursor materials, battery components, and cell and pack manufacturing.
