Colorado to launch its first hydrogen pump

October 7, 2015

The first ever publicly-accessible hydrogen fuelling station will soon be open in Golden, Colorado, according to the Energy Department’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

The 700 bar station is an important part of NREL’s new Hydrogen Infrastructure Testing and Research Facility (HITRF).

NREL has collaborated with car companies and their fuel providers to assess the on-road performance of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and the necessary fuelling facilities.

The Golden station is also the first hydrogen fuel pump away from the United States coasts. The rest are found in California, South Carolina, and Connecticut, reported autoblog.com.
