LA now biggest U.S. city to announce 100 percent renewable energy goals

The city of Los Angeles is following the same clean energy direction that its home state and some neighboring cities are taking by declaring an intent to power all of its municipal activities with carbon-free sources by 2050.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti detailed the city’s updated “Sustainable City Plan” this week establishing the climate goals. Those include powering the city’s electricity, buildings and transportation with clean energy.
