GE turbines to power new 200 MW wind farm in North Dakota

March 13, 2023

GE is supplying 71 of its 2.8-127 wind turbines for the 200 MW Sweetland Wind Project in Hand County, North Dakota. Sweetland is owned and will be operated by Scout Clean Energy, a Colorado-based company.

Sweetland is expected to produce over 903,500 MWh of power each year. GE’s 2.8-127 series turbines were named the most widely deployed in the U.S. by the American Clean Power Association (ACPA).

Scout will manage construction of the project and has selected Blattner Energy as the Balance of Plant (BOP) contractor. Installation is expected to begin this year.
