Energy Department Provides $46.2 Million for 48 Solar Projects

The U.S. Department of Energy will provide $46.2 million for 48 projects as part of the SunShot Initiative, which is designed to develop innovative, early-stage solar power technologies that lower costs and improve reliability and safety.

“The SunShot Initiative is a proven driver of solar energy innovation,” said Charlie Gay, SunShot Initiative director. “These projects ensure there’s a pipeline of knowledge, human resources, transformative technology solutions, and research to support the industry.”

Including cost share requirements leveraging private sector funding, total investment in solar development will reach $65 million.
