The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority announced a funding initiative for energy storage projects supporting renewable energy technology and peak electric demand, Long Island News reported.
The initiative, which will total $15.5 million, is part of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Reforming the Energy Vision program for the state.
“Under Governor Cuomo’s leadership, the state is leading in the development and use of clean energy technologies, including storage,” said John B. Rhodes, president and CEO of NYSERDA.
