The Government of Egypt announced the launch of a digital platform for oil fuel and natural gas management at service stations. The new service is part of a wider integrated programme for the digital transformation of the fuel infrastructure in the country.
The Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, specified the details of the initiative during the official announcement. According to a report by local news site Zawya, El Molla declared that this is the first of a series of digital services to provide an integrated system for the management and follow up of the supply of fuel using a smart card instead of coupons.
