Upper Michigan Energy to Build New Gas Plants in Michigan

Upper Michigan Energy Resources Corp., a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, submitted plans to build two gas generating stations totaling 183 MW in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

The plans are now under review by the Michigan Public Service Commission. If approved, Upper Michigan Energy would build, own and operate one station in Baraga County and the other in Marquette County at a total cost of $277 million.
