Duke Energy Renewables has purchased its first renewable energy project in New York.
The 24.9-MW Shoreham Solar Commons project on Long Island, currently under construction in Brookhaven by Invenergy, is one of the largest solar projects in the state.
When Shoreham is finished in the second quarter of 2018, it will sell power to the Long Island Power Authority.
