Shell has connected charging columns for trucks in public areas to its service station network in the Port of Hamburg, Germany.
The company aims to establish public charging infrastructure for e-trucks with high-performance charging points (360 kW) powered by 100 percent renewable electricity via the Shell Card. Thus, it is supplementing the existing offer of charging options and giving the go-ahead for the development of a nationwide charging network.
Shell will build the charging infrastructure to achieve this at important transport hubs in Germany by 2025. The next truck charging stations are planned for Hanover.
